We are making some changes to our training calendar here at PeachMac. Starting Tuesday, we will have regular free workshops in each store, every week. In January we will feature iPhoto and iMovie, along with our weekly Intro to Mac workshops.
February will have iWork and iTunes workshops as well. Please see the calendar page for the schedule at the store closest to you.
While we are working to implement online registration, for now, please call your local store to register for any workshops. They are limited to six customers each, so please call in advance.

Yes, it has really been 25 years since the famous 1984 Apple Super Bowl commercial launched our favorite toy, the Macintosh. I confess that I did not buy my first Mac until 1986, but that Mac Plus is still with us and still works perfectly. Amazing. We have come a very long way since the original 128 Mac. I will never forget the Mac II, the first color Mac. RAM was about $450 a megabyte in those days, and the Mac II held 8MB of RAM. So we spent $3,600 to fill the thing. Then there was the 19″ SuperMac display, which weighed 90 pounds and cost about $4,000. Of course you needed a 24-bit video card to drive the thing, and that was another $4,000. And let’s not forget the LaserWriter printer, which was around $3,500. All-in-all, I think we were looking at around $17,000 for a setup that had a fraction of the ability of an iPhone. Yes, we have come a long way indeed.

We have some spectacular specials cooking for the weekend starting at 8 AM Friday, November 28. Yes, both PeachMac stores will open at 8 AM for your shopping convenience. Some of these deals are blockbusters, so be sure to check them out on the home page. One deal in particular is Friday-only, so don’t miss out!
These will be our best offers of the year and when they are gone, they are gone. FeastMac runs November 28-30 only. So enjoy your Thanksgiving meal, some football and family, and we’ll see you Friday!

We cannot believe it’s been a year, but May 15 we turn one. All of us at PeachMac would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your incredible support during our first year. It has been an absolute blast and we can’t wait to see what our second year has in store for us. Rumor has it that Apple has some pretty spectacular new products brewing.
As for us, we are working on a couple of new stores to better serve our customers to the east and south. Stay tuned for details shortly. In the meantime, we are going to have some cake, a diet coke, and get back to work.

Well, it’s that time of year. From today through Sunday, you can make computer purchases of up to $1,500 without paying sales tax. Here at PeachMac, we are well stocked and fully staffed to handle this major event. Apple has several models of both desktop and portable computers that fit under the $1,500 limit including the entire MacBook line, and some iMacs. The $1,500 limit is “per visit” according to Georgia law. iPods, recreational software and some other items are not included in the sales tax holiday. We will be open our normal hours, Thursday and Friday 10-8, Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 12-5, so come on down and check out the savings.
